So guys I have a working theory but I need your guys’ verification.
I think those who were notified of their acceptance with the first batch turned in the application rather early(and was also a strong applicant) than those who turned it in … like say the week before the deadline
How does that sound? Also some majors might be excluded to this rule
Batches are random.
I heard that as well (and is probably so) but I am trying to find a logical reason why I wasn’t included in the first batch if the premise that the “strong” (those who have high gpa, finished their stuff) applicants get included in the first batch.
@hemingwayyyyy I’m a strong applicant too and I haven’t heard back yet either. I don’t think that matters.

I submitted my app on November 8th.
Finished TAU on 7th of jan.
my gpa is 3.67 and it is not that competitive for the biology: neuro & physiology.
My daughter last year, 4.0, in every batch she heard at, or near, the tail end, and was accepted to all. There’s no rhyme or reason. It’s random.

So do you think I can get in? I am currently taking Calculus 2 but I have everything else done except Calc 3.
And what was your GPA?
A lot of students get into econ without taking calc 3

Oh of course! @tonystark93 I have a bit higher GPA of 3.9 but I think you’re more competent than I am. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if I didn’t get in and you did.

I think I know why you haven’t gotten your decision for UCSB yet.
They have a strict policy on completing Calc1-2 by the end of Spring semester before transferring…
That’s why I didn’t get in last year. 
@tonystark93 I’m taking a business calc that satisfies both MATH 34A and MATH 34B
I’m sure all of you are feeling as stressed as I am of not knowing whether or not you made the cut.
They’re taking so long 
However, receiving over Sixteen Thousand transfer applicants doesn’t expedite the decision process.
We will all wait… wait… then wait some more. As soon as we’re done waiting, we’ll wait one last time.

I have a 3.56 gpa and I’m applying as a history major. Kind of nervous. Do you guys have any idea about exactly when the second batch is released?

@odabach Hi, I also have 3.56 gpa and applied history major. I have not heard anything back yet but I did get into UCSB history major on March 16th I am so nervous to hear back SD since I love that area so much. Which of these 6 college you applied? I applied to Warren.
Ahh okay haha. Got me a bit excited there haha. But yeah looking at previous years, my best guess is that we’ll hear back late march or very early april. Just like someone mentioned in this thread
so the bulk of decisions will come out beginning early April
