UC Santa Cruz, how hard is acceptance?

I originally planned to go to a Cal State, but recently I've become interested in UC Santa Cruz. Is it hard getting accepted?

I'll have the bare minimum class requirements (ie. 4 years english, 3 years math..etc), probably nothing more though. Around a 3.4 GPA. I have no volunteer hours or any of that stuff.

I'm a junior, haven't taken the SAT yet, but if i hypothetically get an average SAT score, with everything else included, would i have a chance at getting accepted? Is it worth doing further research?

thanks in advance :)

You’d have a good shot with about a 1900 SAT.

the average sat is 1799 and gpa is 3.76, so i agree with the above poster. a 1900 would probably make up the gpa gap

It’s honestly not that hard. Is 3.4 your UC gpa? Because if not, your UC gpa is probably higher. I know a girl from the East coast who was below the Santa Cruz stats and got in. It’s worth a try.
