UC Santa Cruz Transfer Decisions 2013

@CourtneyDuh Do you have a low borderline gpa, because I waited almost a month for my acceptance from UCR.I barely got it like 5 days ago and been waiting since March 1st.

@courtneyduh I also applied as Sociology major. I am starting to worry =(

@anthony Do they leave the low GPA people last?

@frankbot2000 I am impatiently waiting on a response from ucsc!!!

Don’t stress; I’m a combat veteran with awards, a PTK member with a 4.0 GPA, active in the honours transfer program, and have all my prerequisites done with the exception of a summer course, but I am also awaiting a response as a Comp Sci video game design major.

Have any Philosophy majors heard back?

I am also waiting to hear back! I am transferring from another four year, not a cc, so I don’t know if that makes a difference, but my GPA is pretty high so I don’t think that has anything to do with hearing back yet…

I am applying a Linguistics major, by the way, and have all my pre-reqs done.

Super frustrating that they announced it coming out on the 17th, the email definitely made it sound that they would all be out by then. Oh well. Trying to be patient!

I’m a little worried. I haven’t heard anything from UCSC. I’m from California, but I attend Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. Should I be worried that I haven’t heard anything yet? I’m a little on the low side for gpa. I have a 2.9, as I landed up in the hospital right before finals and was unable to take them.

I’m in the same situation…from california, but going to school out of state. Also a little worried about not having heard back yet

I wish they would just hurry up, if I don’t get into UCSC I’m going to attend Edinburgh. I have all the requirements filled for UCSC but am super worried about my gpa. I’m transferring with about 80 credits.

I agree! I have no idea what I will do next year if I don’t get in. Everything kind of hinges on admission and it is difficult to make plans without knowing about where I got in!
It’s unfortunate that decisions come out so late

Also I really need to be able to decide soon. I’d really love to go back to California. I also need to tell Mount Holyoke that I wont be coming back by a certain date. I might actually lose my mind, if I’m forced to attend here another year

Haha literally exactly the same for me. Like pretty soon I have to declare a major and sign up for housing and select a major advisor and do all these things to prepare for next year that I don’t want to do at my current school and I don’t even know if I will be there or not.
It’s really frustrating.
I’m hoping Santa Cruz comes out before then, but Davis is the next soonest to release that I applied to and they come out like a day before I have to register for classes for next year.
I’m kind of freaking out a bout it, buuttttt hopefully it all ends up okay.

What major are you applying for? Do you live close to Santa Cruz?

I really want to be back in school in California too.

I live in Calabasas…so not close to Santa Cruz. I’m applying for a bio. I still think I should tell them that I was in the hospital for finals, but several people have told me that they wouldn’t really care.

I feel like it couldn’t hurt.

It’s not going to hurt your chances by telling them, and it might help them, so I would probably tell them.

When do you think they’ll tell us?

I got a 2013-2014 UC Santa Cruz scholarship invitation by email this afternoon, but my status is still pending. It says that only when i am admitted and submit the essay will I be considered for the scholarship. Just like UCLA, admission is not guaranteed. My major is biochem.

@frankbot My GPA is somewhere between 2.9-3.2 depending on how they calculate it. I guess they leave us borderlines for last pick! I applied through TAG but got denied. I’m hoping Sociology isn’t as competitive as some of the other majors offered there.

I still haven’t heard anything. =(
