Would love to learn more about stats and ECs, etc. that afforded entry to CalPoly SLO…have a Junior 3.6, 1460 SAT, pole vaulter (but not likely D1), APs, etc.

when does the wait list will be release, and any chance it might come out before may 1

Is it possible for decisions to come out tomorrow? Last year people heard back on the 20th and the 21st.

i hope they do…

I was waitlisted even though I had UCSC’s median GPA, nearly 500 community service hours, and leadership/positions in four non profit grassroots currently. Santa Cruz was my first choice, because being a trans person of color, it fit both the need for a very inclusive and open minded environment and the climate I love. I know many people who- although had a GPA a little bit higher than me- got in with the minimum 60 community service hours to graduate, not a single EC, and are from mostly privileged backgrounds (white, straight, cis, middle to upper middle class…) so I am almost positive they skipped over my application. Out of nearly all of my friends of diverse backgrounds and many ECs, although ucsc was one of their top choices, they did not get in either. I am beginning to realize the lack of value they hold for ECs and personal backgrounds, resulting them in admitting people simply with good grades. I got into Portland State, and after visiting, I came to the conclusion that I enjoy it much more than Santa Cruz. I also value the fact that their “claimed holistic approach” to reading apps are actually legit- unlike UCSC as everyone I know was astonished I did not get in although I have been doing everything ucsc wanted in an applicant. The UCs are more subjective than ever, and to be quite honest, i’d much rather attend a school that looks at a whole person instead of grades. It shows a lot about a school, so I will be attending PSU instead of ucsc this fall. If anyone is interested in a school very similar to UCSC, Portland State is a very good school that has many of the “claimed” values Santa Cruz holds.

According to this calendar, they should be releasing some waitlist acceptances today. My question is at what time though?

@qwiievl thank you for that! My D has been shaking from nervousness ever since she’s been waitlisted. At least now we know the wait it not too far off regardless of results.

That calendar says they’re releasing REJECTIONS today

@blotofink that was a typo. They since changed it on the calendar. They start letting waitlist people in today. Rejections are the last mailed.Check the link out now you will see.

@zmommy the link is the same. if you look on the link on monday the 23rd, you will see it says that they will email freshmen who have been admitted off their waitlist. Friday is for those who have accepted a spot on the waitlist but were ultimately not admitted.

Does anyone know what time the email will be sent?

Probably after 4. Admissions office will be closed so they won’t have to deal with angry students.

Where do you find the calendar links?

4:01p and nothing … yet

If anyone gets rejected let us know (or accepted).

Guys the calendar changed. They might be releasing acceptances on 4/25 now lol

Omg that would be really frustrating

So frustrating … I’m losing my mind. Everyone else in my household could care less. Glad to have theses threads to refresh and refresh

If they changed the calendar it looks like they will not be releasing anything today. I do not like what this shows. Maybe they have enough students who have accepted they do not need the first wave @Gumbymom any ideas?
