UC Stat Finder?

This might be a dumb question... but how accurate is UC Stat Finder?
I mean some of the things i'm seeing can not be true... For example: it says UCSD has a 69 acceptance rate for CC transfers (cali residents) of students with lower than a 3.2 or something (engineering major for 08) and that UCSB has a like 19% acceptance rate for students with gpa's lower than a 3.4 (engineering major for 08).. I know it says STAT finder but it can't be.. (if it is it might've just made my day)..

It was 68.6% for GPAs 3.0-3.2, and 28.1% for GPs 2.4-2.9. In UCSBs case, they had a bigger range (2.6-3.2), with a admit rate of 2.6-3.2.

StatFinder combines statistics sometimes when there aren’t enough people in a certain category for privacy. Perhaps UCSB only had a handful of applicants near 3.2 and the rest closer to 2.6. This could explain the lower admit rate.

makes sense… so I should i maybe use this site as one source when deciding what schools I should apply to in November?

I think it’s good to use as a general reference, but like you mentioned, it’s kind of hard to determine accuracy with some of the settings. Saying UCSB has a 20% acceptance rate between 2.6-3.2 is a really wide margin to gauge.
