UC TAG application and credits from unaccredited college

Hi,

I was about to submit my TAG application (I'm a ccc student)... and I just realized that I didn't list my classes I took at an unaccredited technical school.

It has been 4 years since I was at that school (I'm a nontraditional student) and these courses will in no way transfer or count towards any degree I am working towards. Do I still need to report these courses? The school has changed a great deal since I attended and the courses are not the same, the curriculum is different, and they don't have credits/units... they are not on a traditional semester/quarter system. To get this information (if they even have it in its entirety) I'd probably have to pay money to get a transcript from and that could take a while, based on past contacts with them.

I initially assumed it would be unimportant, as all of the schools I've contacted said they are uninterested in receiving a transcript since it was an unaccredited school.

You must report ALL courses from ALL colleges.

Yup. Report ALL information, otherwise they’ll wonder where you were during that time, and can even research all the schools you’ve attended, realize you didn’t list the school and can deny you admission.

I went to a non-regionally accredited school/trade school as well, and reported those grades on my TAG. No danger of exceeding the unit cap though because the units do not transfer.

Thanks for your responses! I’m not worried about reporting the information (i.e. I don’t mind), it’s just that getting that information from the previous college is going to be a p.i.t.a.

Thanks again :-)

The UCs are really anal-retentive (seriously) about gaps in education and reporting ALL coursework. Make sure you have an actual transcript in front of you when you fill out the coursework in TAG. Accuracy is key, or it will come back and bite you in the you-know-where.
