UC Tag Fall 2015 transfer decisions

Anyone know if it’s okay to drop a (Language) course after getting accepted to the UCD TAG ? The course is for IGETC Completion. I’d like to re-take it in Spring Semester which could replace two useless classes I would be taking just to be a full time student.

I work odd jobs and take care of my mother and grandmother (bathe them, make food, clean the house/dishes etc); I emailed a Davis counselor explaining my situation and she told me it is okay and that my TAG won’t be affected as long as I explain myself in the additional comments.

But I read in the forums that other counselors have stated that they would void the TAG but applicants still have a chance to get accepted through General Admissions. I really don’t want to leave my admittance rate to second chances. Any response appreciated! Good luck to everyone as well ~

@SasukeCA‌ You should ask one of the UCD undergraduate advisers to change the classes on your TAG app for you. If you ask nicely, I dont see why they wouldnt do it. One of the advisers changed a class for me, I originally wrote that I would take a history class in spring 2015, but I wanted to take it during winter instead so I wont be overwhelmed during spring. I just asked her if I could just take it during winter and she told me that she changed the classes on my TAG so now it says I will take history during winter instead of spring. Though I dont even need the history class and only scheduled it cause I thought i needed IGETC but since im a biology major I do not need it. I did not ask her to take it off completely, though I did think about asking her to do this after she told me she was able to change it, but I just didnt want to bother her anymore because she already did me a favor. It cant hurt to try.

Waiting on UC Davis…

If they get back to you, does the letter say they’ve accepted you or that they’ve received your application?

Good luck to SC, Merced, and Davis people.

Davis will tell you if your TAG has been accepted.

Great, thanks, @luckie1367!

@ChemGod Thanks for the advice ChemGod, I’m gonna try it first thing on Monday. Only issue is that I am currently taking a language course and I wonder if they can still adjust the TAG, whereas you were planning to take the class at the time you asked for a modification. But I’ll let you know how it goes!

Edit: Btw, did you contact them through email or phone?

@SasukeCA‌ You are right, that is a little different since you are already taking the class but it never hurts to ask. And I contacted them through email. You should ask if you can take it over winter or something. Good luck!

@ChemGod Hey ChemGod, I sent you a private message

Just popping in to mention that I spoke to a UCSC admissions officer who visited my school’s campus last week, and she said that they’re aiming to release this year’s TAG decisions between November 12 and 14. So anyone who submitted a TAG there could potentially hear from them as early as tomorrow. Hang in there guys!

I think the reason the decisions are said to go out on the 14th instead of the 15th this year is because the 15th is on a Saturday. Well atleast we’ll know in a couple days.

Santa Cruz

Congratulations! Your admission to UC Santa Cruz for fall 2015 through the Transfer Admission
Guarantee (TAG) Program is conditionally approved.

Remember that you must submit the UC undergraduate application no later than November 30, 2014 for
fall 2015. If you make any changes to the course work you originally listed on your TAG application, be
sure to include them on your UC application. In addition, beginning in mid January, you will be
required to update your course information via the online UC Application Update. Changes to your course
work will only be reviewed when our campus evaluates your fall 2015 UC application for admission.

All in-progress and planned course work must be completed with grades of ‘C’ (2.0) or better.

Your approved TAG includes a guarantee of your proposed major, provided all courses listed as in-progress
and planned are completed as indicated on your TAG application. Changes to your course schedule for
major foundation requirements will void your TAG agreement. To review the requirements for your major
visit http://admissions.ucsc.edu/apply/transfer-students/tag.html</a>.</p>

We hope you will join UCSC’s incoming transfer students for fall 2015, and don’t forget to file your UC
application no later than November 30th!

Congratulations @‌ortemis
My brother also got conditionally approved to UCSC tag. Waiting til the 14th for UCD. Fingers crossed for everyone!

Just posting to say that I also just got my TAG to UCSC approved (received the same message as ortemis). I got in for Electrical Engineering. Guess I wasn’t far off the mark when I speculated that the decisions would be released today. Super relieved because at least now I have somewhere to transfer to!

I was wondering why UCSB and UCI don’t send out the decision earlier than regular decision, then what’s the point for their TAG?

ALSO got conditionally accepted to UCSC for Applied physics!! congrats you guys I hope to see you there!! GO SLUGS!!!

So I got accepted into UCSC this morning! Very excited. However, a planned course that I have put in for next semester will not be available to take next semester. It’s abnormal psychology which is an elective class for an AA-T in psychology, so I opted to take human sexuality (different elective) instead of abnormal psychology… will this void my TAG for not taking my planned courses? Please help me, it’s stressing me out :((

The weight that’s lifted of your shoulders when you’ve basically been accepted already at UCSC  got my email this afternoon, congrats everyone!

@jrammmy‌ Maybe you can just inform them of the changes when January rolls around? You could also probably just go see a transfer counselor at your school.

That’s not going to void your TAG. Just make sure to update your next semester schedule in the January update.

Does anyone know if my TAG for UCD will be voided if I dropped a course that’s not needed (foreign language) and am planning to retake it next semester?

I’ve got the green light from my UCD and Community college counselor
