Okay, I know most people want to transfer from CSU to UC, but I am having the opposite dilemna and need some input...

I'm currently a sophomore at UCSD. When I submitted my Intent to Register, I had no clue what I wanted to major in. Now I've decided I want to be an Urban and Regional Planner with an emphasis on urban design and physical planning. Although UCSD has an Urban Studies and Planning program, the program focuses more on sociology and the "urban studies" aspect of the major while barely offering any courses on physical planning or design. Also, as UCSD tends to be science-oriented, the program is pretty small and is not nationally accredited, a point that could possibly limit my career choices in the future.

Cal Poly Pomona, on the other hand, has a well-established and nationally accredited program in Urban and Regional Planning that places an emphasis on physical planning and the type of work that I want to pursue. So here rises my dilemna: should I stay at UCSD or transfer to Cal Poly? UCSD is a great school and continuously ranks among the highest in the nation, and it almost seems to me as if transferring to a CSU would be a huge downgrade for me, especially after I put so much hard work into my high school career to be able to attend a good school. However, I am pretty sure that Cal Poly would be a better fit for my major/career.

Any thoughts? Suggestions? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
