So this is my deal...I am going to UC Merced this fall and my plan was to go there for my General Ed classes. I understand that priority goes: cc>csu>uc, but what I want to know is basically what are my really chances. I plan on trying real hard on all my classes, go to all office hour; everything to get mostly A's and no lower than a B. I am really determined to get very good grades and to volunteer a lot. I also get that to transfer; it will be difficult.

In high school I passed to AP exams and took others that gave me a good taste of what that class is about which can get me an edge when taking my general ed classes.

So my plan is to hopefully transfer from UC Merced to possibly UCSD or UCI; so the real question is, what are my real chances if I possibly maintain at least a 3.8 throughout my two first years of college while having EC and possibly a work study job?

PS: Can any respondent please reply with detail on which steps I should take.
