UC to UC transfer?

I want to transfer from UCD to UCI. I will be a sophomore next year. My GPA is a 3.45 and I am a biological sciences major. I was wondering if I should switch my major to something that is not offered as TAG so I could have a higher chance of getting in. What are my chances of getting in? I want to transfer because my brother and my family want to move down to SoCal and do not want to deal with me being at UCD.

Changing your major to something that is not offered as a TAG major, would make it much more difficult to get in, not easier.

I’m a UC to UC transfer this year along with some other very qualified members on CC. There is a thread on it if you search the forum about UC to UC transfers. The most important thing to focus on is your GPA. Don’t worry about majors or what will give you a higher advantage than cc students, just focus on your grades and finishing major pre-reqs and GE’s. Try raising your GPA to a 3.5-3.6 next year and that should give you a good shot. Good luck!
