This fall I'm attending UCR, but I'm not 100% on it bc the area just isn't my style. Also, I had a hard time growing up and school wasn't my priority until the 11th grade. I know UCR is a good school (despite all the negative rumors,]... because they're rumors!), but I know that I can do more, it's just that my history didn't allow me to. If I were to transfer to another UC, is it hard? Can I transfer after freshman year or should I wait the standard two years and transfer as a junior?

I attempted to do this last year (UCR to UCLA). Despite the fact that I loaded up on units and I came in with 32 AP units, I couldn’t take enough classes to complete all pre-reqs and breadth courses. In order to be a competitive applicant from a UC, you need to fulfill all pre-reqs for your major and obtain UC to UC reciprocity. It is not impossible, but incredibly difficult to accomplish in only one year.

With that said, I believe that you will come to find that UCR is going to exceed your expectations. But remember, college is what you make of it.

What were the requirements? It seems like you did a lot…

depends on our major. go to ucla’s transfer website and look up the prereqs for w/e major you want.

might be easier at a community college… could be mistaken though.
