Hello! I just submitted my transfer application (UC to UC transfer) and was wondering what my ballpark chances are of getting into UCSB. I’m currently a computer science major but applied as a statistics and data science major at UCSB.
For reference, I looked at the “UC Transfers by major” website to see the acceptance rate and average GPA for the “statistics and data science” major and was relieved to see that the acceptance rate is 83% with the average GPA being 3.40-3.89. By the end of this fall quarter, my cumulative GPA will be around 3.83 which puts me towards the 75th percentile.
I have also researched what the prerequisites are for this major as a transfer and have completed all “strongly recommended” courses since there is a lot of overlap between CS and data science. Another important thing I will have is the “letter of reciprocity” which means I wouldn’t have to take any GE’s at UCSB. Would you say that it’s a fair assumption that I have a very high chance of being admitted? Thank you!
