Indie, Economics major.

Ugh... I can't believe I still haven't heard from SB, which I thought was going to be an easy "accepted". Have any Bio majors heard anything from them yet? None of my Bio mjr classmates have yet, so I'm kind of hoping they're just stringing us along, and this doesn't mean rejection. Its making me extremely nervous about LA. (Btw- 3.71 GPA, IGETC, missing a few mjr reqs, in at Davis).

Yo Intel, im an econ major and from the sound of it, you are one qualified guy. Of course Berkeley and LA are never for sure, but as far as other schools go, you should be a shoe in. As far as acceptances, I got into UCSD and UCDavis for econ with a 3.5 gpa and an Essay that had to deal with how I scammed best buy into giving me 700$ from 100$ and doubling that to by my brothers a tv for X-mas

do u guys think east indians get any preferential treatment cuz they're a minority? if not, what about if you would be the first in your family to get a degree in the United States? Such is the case with me, and i just realized how much of an idiot i am by not citing im a first generation american. i hope its implied. ah well.

Being an East Indian wont help you at all. I don't think UCz give preference for minorities...If you are first in your family to get a degree and you mentioned it then that helps...

i dunno, i can say i am from this chinese city and i am the only one here representing my state, but hey....

Hello everyone. Has anyone here applied for UCLA theater school as a transfer? If so, when do we hear back from them. Also, can anyone speak about how they did on their audition.

As far as UCSB is concerned, do they give priority to those that are residents of california or those who have gone to a CCC for the past two semesters?

CC is prison, do you know much about the UCLA theater school because that specific major has more to do with the audition than the GPA, although the GPA must be a 3.0 or above. (I still believe, or at least am led to believe that the audition weighs heavier.) So can you really say that its really slim for that major from the GPA? For UCSB, I believe that if you have gone to a CCC for the past two semesters then you are given priority. Isn't that true?

Just wondering...since this is a transfer discussion and a lot of ppl got into UCSD today...

Where are you all going to live if you go to SD? Apts? Does UCSD have off campus housing that's owned by UCSD since they don't have on campus housing for transfers?

no idea where i would live if i chose to go to school at UCSD....La Jolla would suck to live in. SD is tight, but its a bit of a commute. I would like to live near downtown if i do move down there, but like i said, it would suck to have to commute to school. but who knows. maybe a cool little apt in La Jolla would be fine.

FINALLY.

In at SD. Muir for communications.

Just waiting on LA now. (and USC).

soulrebeilbc, what's wrong with La Jolla?

It's beautiful but boring!

La Jolla, I heard, is dull...but who cares the school is good..

I dunno, I love La Jolla. 'Tis gorgeous and chill and stuff. Though Im not hugely into the party scene so eh. But yeah.

Im very excited about the acceptance from San Diego. Im definitely going if LA (god forbid?) says no. And assuming USC doesnt wanna give me enough money. Alas. It's helping me be optimistic.

beautiful as it is, i'd feel super disconnected from what i value in a city. its super rich, suburbanish, and there is not much diversity.

can u guys log into UCSD admissions site? im gettin an error..
EDIT: Never mind, it is working...

So no one knows if they have any affiliated housing or off campus housing that's owned by UCSD?

wut do you guys think is more important, overall gpa or gpa for only the major requirements?
