anybody still waiting on UCSD? and what are your stats?

I am, check my post history for my stats.

This DOES NOT sound good... It seems every year it becomes harder to get into even the worst of UC's. I'm not saying that UCSD and UCD are mediocre universities but their stats/ranks are less than spectacular. Soon enough, future transfer students will be lucky enough to get into even the least desirable of UC's, UCSC & UCR! I may sound overly-dramatic and pessimistic but by the way our economy is going, our future's are not all going to be filled with sunshine and dandelions.

Overpopulation isn't helping either: too many applicants/too little spots

you are so right nikkei325i. instead of encouraging people to go to school they reject them and make everything so hard.

Like I had mentioned in another thread, in economic terms, it's a matter of scarcity and they just don't have the seats to satisfy even the greatest of students. UCD is on my top 5 list, or should I say WAS, and I'm sure this goes true for the hundreds of millions of other transfer students who are scrambling to get a seat in any UC they can grasp. Unfortunately, you cannot take all the 4.0 students and leave the others in the dust. I can understand how painful it would be to find that a university such as UCD rejected you based on their limited number of seats but that's life. Hopefully UCD is just lagging and will send out the remaining acceptance letters to those who deserve it. I wish you all the best of luck with your alternative choices. Whatever you do, don't lose hope! Possessing a degree from a top prestigious school will not guarantee you success in life.

Remember, it's not what your degree can do for you but what you do with your degree.

I just got a message from UCI requesting further information regarding an educational gap.

The admission advisor stated that "everything else looks good" and that they just wanted to clarify this.

I just responded with a detailed account of the dates in question and I feel pretty good about being accepted to UCI.

Still waiting for UCSD, and of course UCB and UCLA. Oh, and a week ago UCB also requested some information regarding my WIP so I know UCB is not entirely ruled out.

Wish me luck!

Congrats mor! What are your stats?

EDIT nvm I found them...

Check the previous page of this thread.

No congrats yet...but at least the dread of not having any school to attend in the Fall is kind of gone. =)

hehe that is good. I cannot wait until I am in your position (the part about having a school to attend of course).

Of course I'm really hoping to attend UCB though. Another week guys/girls...

i thought berk was may 29?

hey everyone...

just thought i would share this part of an e-mail i got from my counselor at UCLA... like the couple of others who mentioned this, it's true:

"I just wanted to let you know that next Wednesday you can check the website for transfer admissions!!!!!! :)"

that's the 27th, as mentioned before. good luck everyone!! i'm sooo nervous that i have my friends checking my admission sites... it's too much sometimes lol

nikkei325i, are you still waiting on schools or have you been accepted? if so, which ones? and what are your stats?

i completely agree with you about the UC's. i have waited two years for this moment and hopefully the outcome will show that it was worth the time and effort.

does anybody know how much each part of aplication is weighted? for example, is the gpa considered the most, or is it the essay?

Yeah knowing that Wednesday is D-Day (yeah I know it's a lame reference) is somewhat terrifying... It's like I've worked constantly for two years and it all boils down to Wednesday which is odd...

Friday is going to be pretty stressful to, with Berkeley coming out.

Has anybody else not heard from UCSD who's not an engineering major? And also, are engineer's accepted into a different school or is it regular admissions?

Sorry for my multiple posts about UCSD but i am really worried that it's taking so long to hear from them...

cbkb03, I'm a history major, 3.7 gpa. 4.0 in major, all prereqs completed....still getting nothing but total silence from UCSD AND UCSB.

well let's just hope that they're not waiting to reject the rest of us next friday!

has anyone had contact with any of the admissions offices lately? any new news?

I talked to Berkeley and they said all admissions will be relayed on the 29th.
