I updated my UC application with my latest grades including the wintersession which ended in early February.
Now I'm taking a few more units to complete the IGETC. I was wondering if the grades I'm getting this semester matter at all.

The grades you get over the spring and the grades you have listed for winter will not be considered.

so technically, if I got all C's, it wouldn't matter?
Not that I'm gonna be super lazy this semester, but I have a pretty tough schedule, so I might accept a few bad grades.

i believe you need to keep above a 3.0....that's what i know uc's did for high schoolers (2nd semester seniors). my friend got into ucsd but couldn't maintain a 3.0 and she got the boot.

bearclaw is right. you must maintain a 3.0 gpa over the spring.

that makes sense, thanks for the information.

Yes, the UC's can withdraw your acceptance if your spring grades are really bad.

what if you get a W in the spring?

here's the rule: UCs don't care unless you have Ds or F...and maybe even then they don't care if your major is not that competitive....your GPA will vanish once you transfer anyway

Unless you take grad school into consideration...

I've been looking for that 3.0 GPA requirement but can't find anything on the UC website. Where can I find more information about it?

what happened if you apply for a job after you graduated from UC ? If they ask you for your GPA? would you count both (ur CC GPA and UC GPA) or just UC GPA only?

UC GPA only...
although if you want, you can list your CC grade at your CC section of your resume and then your UC gpa at the UC section... though i'd imagine they weight your uc gpa much more than your CC gpa...

Unfortunately, spring grades do not matter, nor do winter grades... I'm doing so well too!!! sadface.

get a 3.0 wouldn't be that easy right? If you have to take Cal II and all those science courses .. I'll try my best and even out everything then .. so there will be some easy and difficult classes in between . It would be great if I can get a 4.0 .. like some people in here .. so I don' have to apply to both CSU and UC .. so many classes to take and each of the school somehow require different courses .. or one of them is more than the other ..

So tired ..

So winter grades aren't taken into consideration?
And I have the same question as Maxx- Where can I find the info on the 3.0 minimum requirement for spring?

I think the 3.0 reference is to the high school requirement. As in, maintaining a 3.0 in the last semester as a high school senior so your admission doesn't get revoked.

that's what I was thinking, last night I've been looking at UCSD, LA and Berkeley websites for transfer requirements and couldn't find any information relating to the GPA. I think it said something like all UC transferable courses must be completed with a C or better.

I know of two people who had their admissions revoked while transferring to ucs for have lower than a 3.0 gpa.

Same question as WillDO: What about 'W's?
