A question on my mind that is very significant in life for transfer GPA

So, what is the GPA that the UC looks at for transfer students. Is it the GPA by the end of fall? After Fall, in the spring, does the UC ask you to report back on things and what things exactly? If so, which month?

They look at your grades up until the Fall to make a decision, then you are suppose to tell them what classes you’re going to take for spring. At the end, you will send them your official transcript around July 15 where they will double check everything.

Oh ok. So I take it that for the decision making, it’s the grades up to the Fall right?

You apply during the fall, and then submit an update (containing your fall grades) in January. That’s what decisions are based on.

When acceptances come out, they send terms and conditions with it, and that’ll tell you what spring grades need to be. Some schools might just say not to fail any of your spring classes, others’ll want a 3.0+ for that semester, etc.

Yes, but then you get terms that you must fulfill. For instance my terms from Berkeley say that I must maintain at least a 3.0 and get no lower than a ‘C’ in any of my classes. This pertains to the current semester (Spring 2013) and also this summer semester.

Not very hard to maintain. Some others at Berkeley have slightly harder requirements such as not being able to get any grades lower than a ‘B’ in that time frame. Either way, not hard.

So yes basically everything is looked at, but for admission consideration only up to that fall is considered.

@failure beat me to the punch line! lol.

Ah I see. Thanks guys.
