UC transfer English requitements

Hello all I am try to transfer to UCR and I already apply my admission; but today I got an email from UC they said I need to completing two UC-transferable English composition courses, but I completed it in C and B and each is 4 and 3 units. However, in past my friend took the same class he still successful transfer to UCR. I know C is not a good grade, but in the UC admissions said the students need to earn a grade C or better. However, in the email said that UC-transferable English composition courses need to get B or better and if I do not earn 3 rd English class my application may be delayed or canceled. When I try to apply my admission I had want to our college’s transfer center and the counselor said my grade is fine and can apply. Thus I am afraid that my application will canceled, and I can not take English class in summer. So which grade that is min requitements for UC transfer?

You need to call them. We can’t tell you.

I would definitely email them. They respond pretty fast. I got an A and a B in those two English classes and the requirements for UC transfer clearly say C or better. There is a good chance that it’s just “Highly Recommended” that you get above a C in the two courses.

But ya, just email them specifically to find out. Any answers on here are people just guessing.

If you’re fulfillining IGETC the grade is C or better across all the UCs, but you may have a college/department requirement for a B. Go look at assist for your major and see what it says at the top. Breadth also could have different rules, depending on college.

@HitMyGoal thanks for reply I already sent the email to them and waiting for reply, if I do not get the reply in Monday I will call them and ask for the question that I meet.

@Ohm888 Thank you, my major is computer science, I already look at assist for the requitements, but it did not have any detail is talk about the English, so I might go to my college’s transfer center ask for help

It is odd. They’re college of engineering (where CS is) says C or better. Very interesting… Let us know what UCR says.
