UC Transfers First Choice?

Cal without a doubt would be my first choice for business. Then as a very distant second UCLA for communications. I would be happy to attend either seeing as they are both nice but I was born and raised in NorCal soooo that does make me a biased.

Major: Cell, Molecular and Developmental Biology / Molecular Biology

Choices in order: UCB > UCLA / UCSD > UCI / UCSB > UCD
I would jump in front of a train if I only got accepted into: UCR, UCSC, UC Merced (I didn’t apply to any of them)

Obviously Berkeley’s my top choice, depending on your major IMO it’s hard for any of the universities to justify graduating from them instead of with a degree from UC Berkeley. As I’m probably not going to get admitted (3.63 GPA by the end of Fall), UCLA and UCSD are my first choices. Somewhat leaning to UCSD as they have a great biology department (every bit comparable with UCLA) and the campus seems to be a quieter/friendlier campus than a lot of the others. I’ve grown up in LA my entire life too, so somewhat ready for a change. In terms of location, I love being in socal so heading about a 2 hour drive south would work to satisfy both my urge to get away and stay in sunny socal.

@dilapidatedmind you have a decent chance, from what i have heard, average transfer GPA for MCB is around 3.4-3.5 region for cal. Don’t give up hope! haha

For me: UCSB > UCI > UCSD > UCLA > UCD > UCB > UCSC > UCR > UCM

Major: History
School: UCLA…or CAL. Whichever one I get into haha.

then UCSD is my back up :D

@lawlking why is Berkeley and LA so low on the list? Arent you going for their programs?

Major: Anthropology
First choice: Cal

As a UC transfer, I’m obviously not considering any UCs that aren’t comparable or better than my current school, UCSB.

UCLA>UCSD>UCI. I applied to Cal to see if I’d get in, but have no intention of going.

@tragicxeyes i heard history is relatively easy to get in for at cal  good luckkk

Uc davis all the way!!

My first choice is UC Berkely and I’m majoring in math
I want to go to Berkeley because it’s a good school to graduate from and I’m really considering grad school. I’ve lived in the bay area my entire life and I want to move away as soon as possible but if I can get into UCB, there’s no doubt I’ll go there.

@Tall I’m aiming for SB. But the reason why I put LA and Berkeley further back because Berkeley and Davis is too far but its better than SC, Merced, and Riverside–and the fact that Berkeley uses Semester system(I do better in shorter class system than the long semester ones). While the UCLA campus is beautiful (and the smallest–making it walking friendly) but at the same time it didn’t feel right for me.

Yea berkeley is really convenient for locals, but UCLA sounds nice too. Such a tough decision.

@darksunsets27, hey man, i’m math major too. lol of course Berkeley is our first choice within UC. i live in bay area too, which school r u going?

Hey Which CC do you go to mattinber? i also live in bay area!

ooops… sorry man forgot to check this thread… I go to Berkeley CC and Laney

^^^ It’s all about Las Positas! haha not really tho.

First choice: OOKLAH = UCLA
Second choice: Santa Cruz (TAGed)

Major: Sociology
Top choice: UCSD!

Top choice would be Cal.

Eh. UCB or UCLA are fine with me. Both are great for immunology/MCB, which is my intended major.
