<p>With the UC essay should I sell myself more by bragging a tad bit more, becuase it seems like the UC essay wants us to do more? I would assume so becuase there are no recommendations to brag for us as opposed to a private school.

<p>You make a good point. But think about it this way, since UCs don't have a interview or recommendations, the personal statement is the only place the adcom finds out anything about you. So don't brag, in their eyes, you are an arrogant person. Make sure your personality shines through.</p>
