is it okay if both my essays combined are 1050 words? i knw the limits only 1000, but I knw you can go over a bit. how over can i really go???

50 words over is nothing to worry about, relax.

300, on the other hand, might be.

The prompt says, "1012 words, for example, is fine," so 1050 would probably be fine too. I would worry that they would think I couldn't organize my ideas well enough. When editing, I would set my absolute maximum at 1050, just to be sure.

lets get more opinions. i was thinkin 1050 myself

Personally I'd keep it under 1025

But my friend said keep it closer.

Try keeping together contractions like san not turn into can't etc

wow i just realized the 1000 word limit is for both essays combined. oops. Would it be better to have one short mediocre essay and one long (700~ words) but super awesome essay or to have both essays around 500 words that are just good...

Well, if you can't write a short essay that is good, which is what it sounds like you're saying, you'd best not write a short one.

are we talking uc as in the california schools or UC as in university of chicago?

University of California not Chicago
