What does this mean exactly in the middle school section? I’ve taken Mandarin for about 10 years up to that point (Kinder - 8th grade), so do I indicate it as Yr 4+?
Year 1 would be the equivalent of taking a first year course in high school that is designed for students who are new to the language, and have a 50 minute class each day, five days a week. Year 2 is the equivalent of a second year course that requires language skills equivalent to those mastered in Year 1, Year 3 is the equivalent of a third year course that requires language skills from Year 2, etc.
Were the language classes offered at your middle school awarded high school credits?
