If they are asking for proof of citizenship, then I wouldn’t get one since I’m not a citizen. I’m a green card holder and it is so much easier to prove. I’m just trying to put myself in mind of a reject so that I don’t break down and cry.

I think in order to login to CalNet Authentication Service, we need to have a CalNet ID # which is only for new students at UC Berkeley,
++++++here is the link to create an CalNet ID # and campus email address :
https://net-auth.calnet.berkeley.edu…cpw?NewStudent

don’t create an CalNet ID # till this Friday evening

I asked my brother who just graduated from Cal last year, and he told me that i’m in.
I think we’re in congratulations!!! .

Hey guys so I received the email as well and before I read all of these posts, I called to find out about it. I called a few different departments and ended up speaking to someone in admissions (I was on hold for like 20 minutes haha). Anyway, I ended up talking to a really nice lady and she said that she couldn’t help me figure out my student ID number but she did say that she didn’t think Berkeley would send out that email unless the person had gotten accepted. So, for what it’s worth…

I just talked to student services and a woman told me the email was sent out in error. She then said admissions decisions would be live Friday night, or AT THE LATEST, Monday. What the hell?? I thought all decisions would be posted by Friday!

I emailed them, and here is what I got in reply:
Dear XXX
That email is not a sign of admission. You do not need to worry about
submitting the document before you are admitted. This will not affect your
decision or harm you later.

If you are admitted, you can find out how to create a CalNet ID here:
https://calnet.berkeley.edu/.

You will need your Berkeley ID#, which can be found in the upper-left
corner of myBerkeleyapp underneath your name; it will be an 8-digit number
beginning with a 2.

Sincerely,
FASO-R-AB

I just don’t see why they would waste their time sending the email to people who aren’t admitted

However, I definitely don’t think it is a bad thing if you didn’t get the email. You guys probably just submitted FAFSA info correctly

I got an email too. My mind is desensitized to any “what if” feelings lately. Lol Friday will be here before I know it.

I got the email too… hopefully that’s a good sign
