What’s your intended major?

If you will be applying to Berkeley for engineering, I’m afraid your stats wouldn’t really cut it. Berkeley Eng’g accepts only around 10% of the applicants and the average SATs of eng’g students is about 2250 to 2300, and the GPA is above 3.91.

I’m not looking for any financial aid, and most of these colleges don’t offer that to international students anyway.
So that shouldn’t be a problem.

True, I know engineering is a hard major to get accepted to but I’d really like to know why the SAT scores are so lionised ? I can prove my proficiency in English through my TOEFL and essays; and math through my subject test. Would they deny me based on SAT I ? I’m the only one applying from my highschool, but among some of my other friends, my stats are pretty strong.

Berkeley and Cornell - Almost impossible
UIUC - High match.

Your SAT scores are weak. Your ECs are good for sports but hardly have anything in computers and science. Sorry but you are gonna have a hard time.
Look at Purdue.
