I was admittd to Berkeley's College of Latters ans Sciences and I am planning to do the pre med program as well. I am having trouble picking a major that might do well with pre med. I heard some people saying that Molecular Bio major is extremely difficult as every pre med student usually picks thi major and it is very cutthroat and competetive. Any response is appreciative. Thank you!!

Also however, you have three sets of requirements to fulfill:

pre-med sequence, listed by LH above
major
breadth, AC and other UC dictums

Some majors have substantial overlap with the premed lower courses, for example MCB or IB, others have an almost totally different set of courses (e.g. might need English 45A and 45B and 45C for an English major, whereas IB has almost the same class list as premed). Thus, your choice of major can determine how many or few remaining units of credit are available to explore courses of interest to you.

Look at the department web sites for any majors you are considering, list the required classes, list the premed classes, then add in the R&C, AC, breadth, history and other courses you may need to complete.

IB is a good fit with pre-med, not as insane as MCB and almost every premed course is also an IB requirement.

thanks for your responses but i as also thinking of majoring in psychology. i was wondering if this major fits well with pre med requisites and etc. thanks

and also ho hard is the IB major along with pre med. i really want to try and get a 4.0 (if thats even possible lol) thanks.
