Does anyone know about those supplement questionnaires that some people get?

You pretty much get to extend your essay. There are different questionnaire's depending on your situation (that is mentioned in your essay or application). The one you get has questions and you answer each one (unlimited characters by the way) and it also gives you an option to get a rec.

So, if you had strong responses + a really excellent rec. ...what are you're chances of getting in (after being in the MAYBE pile) ??

Generally, what are chances of getting in after receiving a questionnaire?

well I got one for both berkely and UCLA..didin't do the UCLA one and got in...

Whoa, nice. What are your stats? I heard that if you don't bother to do them, it shows that you're not interested in their school anyway --which makes them reject you. I'm assuming for right now that you have amazing stats etc. to get in without bothering to do the questionnaire.
That's also just based on what I've heard most.

that's nice tho :)

I got them from both. I did the UCLA one and got in and I didnt to the Berkeley one, but I had a recommendation letter from my superintendent to go with that.

It was pretty much a "last chance" type of thing for me. I did a good job on the questionnaire & got my US Gov. Econ teacher to write my rec. He was the toughest teacher I've ever had....(way tougher than any AP), but he knew me better than most of my teachers & I knew he'd be seriously honest if he wrote anything good (which he did ! :) ) & yeah...this supplement questionnaire had better work!

So, if you didn't get one of these supplements, then are you a clearcut accept/reject?

I didn't hear of or get any sort of supplement for any of the UCs I applied to, but I got into UCLA.
