UCB/UCLA One or the other myth

What's your take on the myth that you get into one or the other?

they might be able to find out if you didn’t get into any of the schools you applied and feel sorry for you and admit you if you have decent stats. however i doubt berkeley does that. UCR and merced do though hahaaaaa

empirical evidence says otherwise…

i think nproamr is living in fairly land

why??? i said they MIGHT be ABLE to, but i doubt they would.

some people are getting acceptance letters from ucr and merced.
1 they didn’t get into their other schools
2 they didn’t even apply

lol that wasn’t the question though

well the question assumes that one school would have to talk to the other in order to find out who is going to accept them. but i don’t think they would do that. UCR and merced…do.

6days til ucb decision. so scary!

i dont believe it. i know a lot of people who have gotten into both.

I got into UCB senior yr and not into UCLA. I had a few friends that only got into UCLA and not UCB and a couple who got into both.

we will see april 30
but i dont think its true. if u can get into cal then u can almost certainly get into ucla - assuming u apply to the same majors

i don’t think so, last year i had friends with pretty good stats (3.8-4.0) who got in both, and some friends with OK stats (3.5-3.6) just get into one or the other, more often ucla than berk because of our TAP program

They have no connection to each other whatsoever. However, if you didnt get into UCLA, it does not necessarily mean that you wont get into UCB as it was in the past, because it might be harder to get into UCLA now.

Hi Caltouci,

You said that you got into Berkeley as a senior trasfer student, didnt you? Is it possible that we can get into UC’s as a senior level student?

I got into UCLA and UCB. It happens a fair bit.

noname1984,

He means that he got into Cal as a high school senior. You cannot transfer in as a senior, only as a junior.

UCLAri: what should we be expecting at UCLA? Social wise as well as academics compared to community college.

cubman777,

I’m actually working on a UCLA transfer FAQ as you read this. Look for it in a few minutes!

Yea noname1984, I meant I got in as a high school senior.

uclari, any chance you know anything about those that are still in review, why that happened or when we will find out?

sweetnezz998,

Based on my experience, it’s just an issue of time. Some people don’t get the news “that” day. Sometimes it’s because they’re a marginal admit, other times it’s just bad luck. You’ll find out… eventually.
