Hi UCD just sent me email and saying,

Dear XYZ,
After careful review of your application, we regret that we are unable to offer you admission to UC Davis for fall quarter 2013. You were part of an exceptional group of close to 56,000 applicants from which UC Davis could enroll a freshman class of about 5,100. This was a very competitive year given the strength of our highly qualified applicant pool. and etc.

and am wondering whether they are just being nice to everyone who got reject by saying that they were all exceptional group of close to get into UCD or do UCD actually only send those email to ppl who are actually close to get in?

I am wondering and really nervous right now because i thought that my SAT score is suitable for their range, however, when I got rejected, I feel like I will get pretty much rejected letters as well from other colleges cuz other colleges that I applied are either higher ranked than UCD or similar.

However, if Davis actually only sent those email to people who are very close to, I would feel little hopeful.
