UCD Transfer housing!

Hello!

I’ve been looking at housing options and I think I will definitely be renting off campus. Right now, the best option seems to be University Village Apartment Homes. I especially love that it has dryer/washer right in the apartment + all the other amenities. I looked up The Ramble and the Viridian in West Village and although they look fantastic in pictures, the reviews for them were pretty awful.

Are you currently at University Village Apartment Homes? If so, what are some of the pros and cons? How is the noise level? I’m a transfer student and is over the partying years so I really would like a quiet place where I can study.

Are there any other apartments around UCD that’s about the same price that you would recommend?

Thank you!!!

The Ramble/Viridian are really expensive, and kinda far from everything. There IS one negative to UV as well - its right by the train tracks.

Tanglewood is older, but run by the same people and it’s a little further from the train tracks  There’s also a new apartment complex being built about a mile down the road (almost directly across the freeway/train tracks from UV) but it’s going to be noisy there too I bet.

You might want to check out the facebook UC Davis page. There’s always tons of people looking there for housing  (If all else, try the transfer class of 2013 group :D)

If you’re looking at the off campus student apartments option, check out “the drake”. From the description they seem to be really quiet but also very nice, but they are also a bit expensive. But do take a look at all the off-campus student housing apartments! They are all really nice and all made fir different personalities and interests! You may also be interested in “the arbors” it’s a really nice, quiet looking gated community.

I’m in the same boat as you, transfer student over the partying. I’ve seen a few places on craigslist that look decent but I’m getting the feeling that getting a one bedroom is a waste of money since the 2 bedrooms run for about the same. Maybe we could consider being housemates?
