What are you majoring in? Generally some schools specialize in certain majors more than others. Also what type of environment are you looking for?

i am majoring in managerial econ. and i ant good recruiting... i want a good college town, not overly party school

UCSD-# 7 on the top Universities list ( US News) Not a college town, but located in La Jolla which is gorgeous. Very close to the beach. As for econ, read this:

UCD- College town environment. Good parties on the weekends due to active frats and sororities. One of the best intramural programs in the country. Also known for excellent internship opportunities.

UCI-Known as a commuter school. Not a college town. 10 to 20 minutes from the beach. Solid reputation in business (Paul Merage School of Business) 3/2 program for MBA
Paul Merage School:

UCSB-Isla Vista (called IV by most) is where the students all live. It is a college town in the sense that students live there, but not a community with residents (non-student) IV is unique in that SBCC (community college) is located right by, so there is a mix of UC and CC students all in the same area. IV is very active with partying due to the number of students. Not everyone at SB parties of course, but SB does have the party reputation. SB is also close to the beach. SB offers majors in, Bachelor of Arts-Business Economics and you can have an Emphasis in Accounting. You can also study for a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Mathematics:

UCSC-IMHO, don't go here if you have the choice of going to any of the above schools.
