UCD vs UCSB

i cant decide whether i should to sb or davis. Can someone give me an insight?
I hear sb is a party school, but so is any other college. what im looking for is a a college that has some what of a social scene but most importantly a class of motivated people; can i find this in sb? or would davis suit me better?
do either of these schools have a city feeling or are they both college towns?
thanks
which school has a better econ program?
can any aggie tell me how the social scene in davis; my friend said it was a commuter school.

davis is a true college town and definitely not a commuter schools. there's no other cities that surround it. it's pretty isolated which is why it is a college town. no, it does not have a city feel nor a surburban feel. it is more like a college town feel.

I don't have enough  to describe what I feel about your friend calling Davis a commuter school.

Davis is definitely not a commuter school. Irvine is an example of a commuter school. Because the closest cities to Davis are Dixon, Vacaville, and Sacramento, very few people commute to and from home. The campus is always full, especially the dorms. As for the social scene, there are PLENTY of parties every week, and during the fall quarter, football games!! And next year we have our huge awesome brand new stadium!
