<p>Hey guys, I’m a little confused as to how the whole regents/honors thing works with Davis. I read the site a little and I’m still fuzzy with some details.</p>
<p>How does Davis choose regents? Do they just determine it from our application, or was there separate application necessary? Also how do they determine it? And when do we get notifications?</p>
<p>And what are the honors programs for Davis?</p>
<p>I was also under the impression you would have to come up with letters of rec and other materials. Has anyone been asked for this stuff yet?</p>
<p>Regent's is selected based on the strength of your UC application alone, and you will be informed that you've received it when you get your acceptance info.</p>

<p>So Regents is chosen based off your UC Application, and Honors is determined once you have been accepted AND have chosen to go to UC Davis? </p>
<p>Is there any way of knowing whether you will be an honors student before making the decision?</p>
<p>Look at the website with the above link. You can apply for Honors by 4/21 and be notified prior to May 1 (when SIR is due). Otherwise the deadline is later in June.</p>
<p>There is apparently a second honors program which is offered to all Regents recipients upon admission and then to some other students later on. You can search "honors" on the UCD website and it will bring up both of the honors programs.</p>
