Honors Program?

Hi everyone I was just accepted to UC Davis as a transfer. I have a lot of respect for UCD because my mentor at my community college went there for her undergrad. It also has a pretty good reputation so I am considering going. In my excitement I explored the MyUCDavis site and discovered their is a upcoming deadline to apply for the honors program. I was just wondering if any current UCD honors students can speak of the program’s benefits and if anyone choose UCD honors over Cal/UCLA/UCSD and why?

Thanks in advance =]

{Hint: If you're not getting much help here, you can try the General UC thread (: I wish I could help, but I'm an incoming freshman, so...sorry! Hope you get the help that you need ):}

I don't know much either, but I would like to help out a little. I've been researching into the UCD honors program, and it seems to not be as popular as UC Irvine's. I've heard many cases of people picking UCI's honors program over the schools you mentioned. I'm not quite sure if UCD's honors program is as well known as UCI's. In terms of rigor and your competition for graduate school (or for competition during undergrad), I am pretty sure being in honors gives you a huge boost. I'm sure if you are dedicated you can get into anywhere a UCB/UCLA/UCSD student gets into from UCD. If you decide to go, have a great time there for me if I don't win my appeal!

My D picked Davis over UCSD because she felt the fit was better. On several trips we noticed the students at UC Davis seemed happier, friendlier. She is in the honors program and has enjoyed several seminars and some other opportunities the program offers but she is unsure if she will continue with the program, because sometimes the seminars create schedule conflicts with other classes she wants to take.

Did your daughter do DHC or Integrated Studies?
