Hi,
I was accepted at UCF to begin summer 2020. I know there are multiple summer terms but I couldn’t find any information on when FTIC students would begin classes. Does anyone know which term I would be starting in? I think summer B makes the most sense but since my acceptance letter didn’t specify I’m not sure. Thanks!
Congratulations Malayk!
Assuming you are a current high school student graduating in May-early June, you will start Summer B.
But you don’t have to physically take classes at UCF. You can meet the summer requirement by only taking ONE course. You can take it in Orlando…or you can take it ONLINE.
You and your parents will have a bunch of stuff to do pretty quickly. You’ll get an email and/or a link with the info.
If your ACT score on another thread is NOT super-scored, you qualify for 100% Bright Futures, and that will be in addition to any other financial aid you get. My neighbor’s son is actually being PAID to go to college because they had FL Prepaid and he got a bunch of other aid.
GO KNIGHTS! CHARGE ON!
@JimDadinmia Thank you!! Yep, I’m graduating in May so looks like I’ll be starting summer B. Just paid my enrollment deposit so once that gets updated in the system I’ll be registering for orientation. I think I might actually be in the same situation as your neighbor’s son so I’m excited about that! Thank you for the information!
Yes, Summer B. You can’t start until you have graduated and they have your final high school transcript. Once they get your enrollment deposit, they will send you a lot of info and checklists, so you don’t leave anything out.
One suggestion I got from a person in Advising may apply to you if you are bringing a lot of AP/Dual enrollment credits in, and are planning on taking online courses.
That advice was to schedule the earliest possible orientation. There are a reduced number of online courses available during the summer, and those are already being booked by current students. So if you are looking to take something beyond basic core courses online, your selection may be limited. Still, you only have to take one class, so you should be able to find something.
Congratulations again!
My son is entering Summer 2020, session B. Living on campus so he gets comfortable and more ready for rigiourous Fall term. Session B is only five weeks, so almost a lengthly “orientation”. Also, registered already for mid-May orientation (no HS finals on the days we chose). Don’t forget to submit a 2019-20 FAFSA as Summer 2020 is part of that financial aid year. 2020-21 FAFSA is for Fall 2020 and going forward through Summer 2021.
