UCF Application Status

Hello!
I applied to UCF a few weeks ago and right now it says "Advanced Placement" under "Required Documents". I don't know what this means. I know that they don't ask for AP scores and they have my SAT scores. please help!

dcohen, I had the same thing happen to me. applied on Nov. 18th, they had all my SAT/ACT scores in, but as soon as it switched to “application now under review for fall 2012” it put the AP scores under the required documents. I emailed admissions on thursday asking about it but havent heard anything back yet :P

I’m so glad I’m not alone! If anything changes for you, let me know.

Haha, same to you! I’m guessing we applied around the same time, so hopefully we should both hear back relatively soon. I’ll let you know if I get an email back from admissions explaining anything :P

I mean, they can’t really “require” AP scores, since not everyone has them, right? Or, if you’ve taken AP tests, does that mean you’re required to send them in?

I’ve talked to my BRACE Adviser about it, and she said I just need to wait. But no, they don’t ask for AP scores except for placement, AFTER you’re accepted.

(BRACE?)

That’s what I figured… but when it showed up on MyUCF as required I was still kinda concerned haha

lol, sorry. It stands for BRoward Advisers for Continuing Education. Basically, college advisor.

haha oh. Well good luck with your app and let me know if you hear anything about the AP stuff! :)

So I just got an email back today saying that they need the AP scores after you’re accepted, but they don’t need them to make a decision. Hope that helps!

They need the AP scores to determine what college credit to award you. They list it under required documents because they need them before you can register for classes (they don’t want you registering for say, Comm 1 if you and AP English credit that counts for it, etc.)

They’ll also list official high school transcript (request your guidance office sends them before you graduate, and they’ll send them at the end of the year.), and official college final transcript if you’ve done any dual enrollment classes. Also, an updated shots record (yes, there’s more to take before college!).

They don’t need them for your admissions decision, just before the fall term.

Lol im from broward too ! But anyway. They will keep asking until you send them. I had mine sent when I took the exam. Your admission status does not depend on your AP scores at all, but they can’t hurt, you’ll have to send them sooner or later.
