UCF Scholarship '17

@saracenman where on myucf are scholarships posted?

Oh my gosh!!! I got the Knights Achievement just now!!! As you all know I’m out of state, so maybe out of state people are starting to get it now. I wish you all luck in the upcoming days! (To see my stats go on page 1)

Congrats @GSMSTer !

I’m hoping that 30 ACT is not the cutoff for Knights Achievement. If it is, that means no UCF for S.

CONGRATULATIONS @GSMSTer & @saracenman!!! That is awesome news! @GSMSTer, we had similar stats so maybe I have a chance!
Do you know how much the award is this year?? If it’s anything like previous years, it’ll be a good chunk of change off your OOS tuition and fees. Is the award notification sent to your email as well as my UCF? I’m checking everywhere possible. Good luck to those (like myself) still waiting!!! :-S :-S
Any more In-State/OOS awards offered so far today???
I’m a hot mess right now! :(( :(( :((

Congrats everyone!!!

@Going2UCF no email or letter yet. Only listed in To-Dos.

Thanks for the information @oceancruizer

By the way, my son’s award stopped showing up in the To Do list (even though I’m pretty confident he will get it). I’m sure they are still working out the details. Don’t worry if nothing is showing up yet.

Just found out – S received Knights Achievement Scholarship!

In-State/Out-of-State: Out-of-State (Virginia)

Find out yet? Yes

Date you found out: November 17, 2016

Semester Attending (Fall/Spring): Fall 2017

Type of Scholarship Award: Knights Achievement

$$$ (If known): Not known (but last year $11,000/year)

Weighted/Unweighted GPA: 3.74/4.22

SAT Score: 1430 (730 RW, 700 M)

Whether or not scholarship money is make or break decision for attending UCF: Definitely puts UCF on inside track for acceptance (ahead of Virginia Tech and Texas A&M). S has accepted admission, accepted Knights Achievement Scholarship, and has applied for housing. So excited for him!

In-State/Out-of-State: OOS

Find out yet?: Yes, yes, yes!!

Date you found out: Nov. 17, 2016

Semester attending (Fall/Spring): FALL

Type of Scholarship Awarded: Knights Achievement Award - whoo hoo!!!

$$$ (if known): Will find out when official letter comes, I guess. Hopefully upwards of 11K

Weighted/Unweighted GPA: Unsure how it’s calculated/3.5

ACT Score: 30

SAT Score: 1400

Whether or not Scholarship money is make or break decision in attending UCF: This definitely made my decision even better!

@VABogart @Going2UCF congratulations!!! I’m sure you both are ecstatic. Where did you see your scholarship notification- I can’t find mine on the myucf page and am unsure if I am looking in the right place.

AYEEEEE!!! Congrats!!! Looks like we’re both going to UCF with a nice scholarship attatched ^:)^

And to answer @ks3210 , you go to the myucf page and click “Student Self Service” then click “Holds and To Dos” and click “To Dos”. There should be a link below the math placement test that says “Scholarship Status” if you got it!

@ks3210 the scholarships show up on your UCF student self service/Student Center page on your “to do” list. It’s the same place where your math placement exam reminder shows up - in a box on the far right side of the page.

@GSMSTer my To Dos section is blank…there isn’t a math placement test on the page either. I’m stressed…

Math placement test should show up if you got accepted into the college, if not just email the office. As for the scholarship, just give it time. You have about the same stats as @Going2UCF and I, so I wouldn’t stress it. Btw when did you get accepted into the school? @ks3210

@GSMSTer I was accepted on October 25th. I haven’t accepted my admission offer yet, could that be the problem?

Thanks so much you guys @GSMSTer & @ks3210! I’m so ecstatic!

@ks3210, the info you received above regarding where to find the scholarship status is accurate. Since you haven’t officially accepted the offer of admission, I doubt there would be a math placement on your To-do list. As far as scholarship offers, I would assume you would be notified once you’ve accepted the offer of admission as well. Maybe you can call the admissions office tomorrow to be certain.
If UCF is high up in your list of choices, I’d probably go ahead and accept. Because the scholarship funds can only go so far, it’ll be wise to increase your chances as much as possible. Worst case, you lose 200 bucks for the deposit if you choose not to go, best case, you have about 10k off per year x 4 if you go to UCF and get scholarship.

Best of luck, everyone

@Gator88NE - did your S respond to offer? If so, maybe the system recognizes that the TO-DO option no longer applies because there was a response. I haven’t sent in my reply yet, so this is just a guess.

@VABogart congrats! Are you applying to Burnett honors college also?

@Going2UCF Nope, didn’t do anything. Like I said, I’m sure he’ll be awarded a scholarship, it’s just an issue of UCF “system” going through it’s paces…

Congratulations @VABogart !

On the Student Center page there should be a Scholarship Status under the Undergraduate Admission tab. That link will take you to the Scholarship Status page where you can Accept, Decline or Extend the scholarship offer. The scholarship offer can be extended until May 1, 2017. You do not need to accept the offer of admission until that time.
