I'm thinking about switching my term of enrollment to summer instead of fall. Isn't it just one or two academic classes?

I’m pretty sure it’s like at least two. My friends that went summer term at USF took 3 I think. Why do you want to switch to summer though?

Its up to you basically. The vast majority when I did summer B 2010 was two classes. Most people would take one more academically heavy type class like a english, bio, history class, etc. and then take a elective type class, like communications which is one of the gen. ed. electives. Some took three and some took one, but the VAST majority took two. One seems pointless to me, because you’re paying for housing so you might as well take enough classes to actually make it worth it. But again its up to you. Summer I think is a good idea because it lets you begin to feel comfortable with the area and campus while not all 50k++ students are there! Its still a lot of people but of course waaaayyy less than normal semesters

Yeah I just want to get used to the city plus you HAVE to take some summer courses while your in college so I might as well knock them out early.

^

You don’t necessarily HAVE to. If you earned enough college credits upon entering (I think it’s 9 credits), then you really don’t have to take summer courses. And it’s two classes. I took an elective and a Math course over the summer. I like summer classes a lot more than fall classes. It does have its risks, but still… And even with the fast-paced moving, I still felt like I had a lot of spare time in contrast to fall term.

And to be honest, I didn’t notice the amount of people during the two terms. There were actually more people over the summer term hanging around the dorms then fall. But maybe it’s just me…

^ That is correct. You don’t technically have to if you have enough credits coming in, but thats for you to figure out yourself.

As far as there being more people over summer, maybe you just felt like that around your dorm or something, but there is no way there are more people over summer. Compare driving down Alafaya at 3-5 PM during summer to that during fall and see the difference.

EDIT: I put driving, but what I meant was stepping on and off of your break and letting your car coast a few feet at a time lol. Good ol’ UCF traffic.
