Does anyone know if they give out financial aid to students accepted off the waitlist?

UChicago had ED I AND ED II AND EA this year, so I’m not surprised the RD acceptance is wayy lower this year. They filled a big part of their class already. Congrats to everyone admitted, and good luck to everyone else!

I’m a European applicant, currently have 3 rejects in the UK and got rejected from MIT, so spirits were low to say the least. Finally not bad news to tell my parents (for now, at least).
But why do more people seem to be waitlisted than rejected?? Is it always like this? Makes me feel like I have a 1% chance anyway lol.
ED I, EA, and ED II were huge to uchicago this year and most people got in through that. RD acceptance rate was especially tough this year…

At least this day wasn’t totally awful. I got my epic box from Reed, and I’m going to sleepover at a friend’s to celebrate her new home. Look on the bright side I guess (but inside I’m really depressed even though it’s one less decision I have to make).
