rejected with 36 act and 4.0 gpa… I guess they really don’t care about test scores
UChicago is definitely a school that focuses on everything not just test scores! That’s why I love them!

D accepted!
Decision: Waitlisted
SAT: 1430
GPA: low 90s uw, 97/100 w
Note: I participated in a lot of things but won basically nothing state or even regional wide…I think what even got me this far was the extremely creative essay I wrote on “where’s Waldo”.
S was wait listed but chose to not remain on the wait list… Congratulations to everyone attending! And to those that were rejected, you all will end up someplace wonderful, and exactly where you are meant to be! Keep your heads up!
Waitlisted, 36, 3.98, deferred EA. So sad
To everyone asking, UChicago is notorious for waitlisting way more applicants than they need to. Unfortunately, if I’m being perfectly honest, it doesn’t mean much. Chances are microscopic, although maybe they miscalculated RD yield since this year is so new.
35 ACT, 4.2 GPA, waitlisted.
Deferred EA rejected RD 92.9 GPA and 33 ACT
This is such a disappointment. It’s my fourth rejection out of seven colleges…I honestly don’t know what to do
@PeregrineFlute Yeah chances were never going to be great for waitlist. At least there’s still hope though.

I was accepted at Northwestern, which I like better, though, so I don’t care!!
OMG, my son got in! He was deferred EA. We figured he didn’t have a chance, although he definitely thought the “square one” essay was his best, and he definitely has the scores to get in (but I know that’s not what they base it on). Now we just need to figure out how to pay for it. National Merit Finalist might help a bit, I hope!
Decision: Accepted
ACT: 36
GPA: 4.28
Honestly, I’m treating this as a soft rejection as it seems most people seemed to be put on the wait list. Guess they need to protect their precious yield
I rather they rejected me if they knew they would eventually rejected me instead of treating me as another statistic.
Their loss.
Waitlisted . . . 32 ACT, 4.14 GPA
Deferred EA, rejected RD. Oh well.
ACT: 34
GPA: 3.8 U/W 4.2 W
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted; you all deserve it ;D
Oh well, I appreciate the fact that they waitlisted me (probably as a form of courtesy) as opposed to straight reject.
Decision: WAITLISTED
UW GPA: 3.44 W GPA:4.07
ACT: 24
SAT: 1200
Really thought I was going to get a solid Rejection since obviously my stats aren’t great. I only applied because my friend applied as well.
