lol I don’t know if anyone is gonna actually show up here but if anyone wants to cry with me I’m down
hello hello
let the crying commence I’m so ready
Anyone know anything about the process? Like if showing interest helps our case?
Hello!
I sent in my LOCI and that’s about it. All I can really do is hope and pray.
@Meganerd2012 did you email it to your regional officer?
Yep! He emailed me the next day thanking me for the continued interest and stated that the letter was put in my file.
Smile, just assume it did not happen or you did not apply. Write it off until they call you.
D was in all of your shoes, she made deposit of her second choice, but luck strikes when she got called 4/30…Oh well, we lost $1000 in the lottery(for the better)
ayyy we out here…
RIP us
I remember when decisions came out that I was so mad because I wished that they would just reject me if they didn’t want me (mainly because I’m so indecisive and being waitlisted doesn’t help that). Then I was really sad because I’ve been wanting to go this school for years. Now, I honestly have no idea how I feel about this waitlist, but I’m happy to ride the rollercoaster of admissions.
I don’t know if they’re are going to take off anyone from the waitlist (I kinda expect their yield to be pretty high because of the amount of ED admits), and I think it’s sort of unhealthy to keep holding on to a very, very minuscule chance that I will be admitted off the waitlist, but of course, me being hard headed me, I’m going to be hanging around these forums and checking my email obsessively.
I’m at the point where I’m just not optimistic about college next year; I can’t even gather up the enthusiasm that I lost for the schools that I got admitted after being waitlisted by UChicago.
I’m in about the same position as Meganerd2012. I’ve wanted to go to Chicago since 8th grade, but after being waitlisted, I just can’t put it above some of the other schools I’ve gotten into anymore.
Crying squad
@ireallylikemaps @Meganerd2012 Same… Like rationally I know that the other schools are great, but I just can’t get excited about them compared to Chicago
Yo ! Listen up ! College is just like a lost love or a house you wanted to buy and could not. It sucks until you are firmly ensconced in the arms of your next boy/girlfriend and in your new home. There are many more colleges out there. There is not only that one college.
Yep, UChicago will be in the rear view mirror as you arrive on campus and find its the greatest place that you never thought it would be. As a bonus you (or your parents) will be saving a boatload of money as there aren’t too many schools more expensive than UChicago.
@CU123 Yeah, because it’s not like they meet 100% of financial need…
I can tell you they didn’t meet my idea of 100% of financial need… :-S, but that is probably the norm.
@Meganerd2012
Your regional counselor put your email letter into your file. Does that mean that just uploading the letter in my account is also okay? cuz I am still hesitating that whether I should send an email or upload in my account.
@Momo0422
I would personally email them since they might not check the file until late April.
