@waddups thanks for replying to my question haha
@tutututututuru yeah no one knows about highly selective colleges in my state. Its only our two major state schools and maybe Duke or Vandy (both great schools but considered the “southern ivys”). Im not even applying instate and everyone think I’m insane.
@Indigoraccoon4 yeah I applied to one school in the south, LSU. I don’t think the south is for me haha
@TrazCapDEV I thought it was harvard because I remember thinking, “I should have applied to Harvard instead because I’d most likely be deferred instead of rejected!” but I couldn’t find any evidence after a quick google search so I decided not to name names, lol.
@Indigoraccoon4 “southern ivies” legitimately makes me think of plants or a garden. Like, a cute little cottage with an off-white exterior and cute little vines running over the sides. It’s untidy and overrun in in a cozy way.
@tutututututuru same, I was hesitant to apply to Vanderbilt because, I mean, Nashville, Tennessee. Coming from socal, it might even result in culture shock lol
Harvard said that it admitted fewer SCEA applicants this year (despite an increase in the number of SCEA applications) because "we are committed to preserving the principle that those who apply under regular action are afforded the same opportunity for admission as those who apply early.” They did the same thing last year as well.

Four days left!
Idk I have about a 1% hope of getting in.
Same–I’m already trying to console myself. How are you guys preparing yourselves for your decision?
Tryin’ to focus on final exams, but the wait is making me crazy in the meantime :-SS
Same here! Most of my friends have already gotten their results so its only making me more nervous [-O<
I’m super nervous! Finals this week + U Chicago decision is really stressing me out. Just looking forward to Christmas break! :^) I’m preparing by just wasting time not thinking about it, honestly. I’m excited though. Just anxious.
At this point I just want to be done with college admissions…
Guys what time do we hear on Friday??
Late afternoon. That’s all the college has said, and likely all they’re going to say before those e-mails go out.
Guys, to show that we are a legacy, on the Common App you’re supposed to answer “Have any relatives ever attended University of Chicago?” with “yes” and “Are any of those relatives somebody other than a parent or guardian or sibling?” with “No”, right?
If your relative is a parent/guardian/sibling, then yes. The Common App lists your parents’ alma maters, so that’ll tell the university you’re a legacy. The only reason to answer yes on that form is if you’re listing a cousin/uncle or aunt/grandparent/etc.
Sounds good. Do cousins/uncles matter as much for legacies, if at all? Just wondering
I bet that we’ll find out our decision at 5 P.M. Central time. That’s seems to be the standard for other colleges. :^)
Exactly midnight here. Guess who isn’t sleeping that night, one way or another?
What time do you normally go to sleep?
