great
We are in the same boat
Does anyone know from last year (and previous ones) how long UChicago pulled from the waitlist. As is did they knock out al their notifications in a week or did it extend further?
It really varies by year, but my impression is that most of the pulling for the current class happens early on with later pulls for the following year.
No what I mean is if we didn’t get in this week does that mean we didn’t get in at all or is there still a chance in the coming weeks?
you would defo still have a chance in the coming weeks, esp after may 3rd which is the deadline for commuting to a college
That’s hard to say. The chance for this year’s class might decline with time, but there’s always the chance to be invited to gap and join next year. Once you start hearing about people being pulled for that, it probably means they have filled the current class. IIRC they usually close the waitlists in early summer, but last year was an exception.
They do advise everyone to accept a place at another school by the National Decision Date so that you have a plan for next year.
They started accepting people off the waitlist last week
They accepted some off of the waitlist last week
Which region/state did you apply from? I heard by some that they are pulling off the waitlist by region
We are from California.
Latin America, specifically Central America.
has anyone else gotten any UChicago waitlist updates? so far no luck here with me
Same. I too was expecting to hear some news at this point of the week.
I was admitted to class of 2026 off of the waitlist. Very happy. I’m more than willing to take the gap year!
Congrats!
were you admitted by regional AO specifically, or was it just someone part of the admissions team (and not your specific AO)?
Anyone else just get a waitlist update? I was formally rejected lol.
bruh i got an email from them saying there was an update to my status and got SO excited and then they rejected me LOLLLLL; didn’t know they did formal rejections off the waitlist so early… i wish they would’ve kept people on the waitlist for longer but ;/
I’m on the orientation team. Seems like there are around 2200 incoming first years. A lot more than 1700 target.
