wait is being waitlisted good or just basically rejection
Waitlisted. Does anyone know what percentage of applicants are typically waitlisted?
waitlisted as well
Waitlisted here too
Waitlisted. Anyone know what the acceptance rate is from the waiting list?
not sure of an exact number, but i’d guess it’s a higher percentage than usual this year. colleges are not certain what the covid situation/yield will be in a few months and are more financially strained than they typically would be
Literally everyone got waitlisted/rejected lol?
I have not heard of a single acceptance yet
DS accepted!
The waitlist percentage is typically 5% of applicants or less in year’s past. This year it is definitely higher but it is still an incredible sign that Chicago is interested so I would not take it with a grain of salt. Now it’s time to wrestle with admissions!!! Good luck everyone
Waitlisted
Congrats!
On reddit it’s about 75% WL, so a lot this year.
rejected! oh well, wasn’t expecting otherwise. congrats to those who got in and good luck to us that will find our paths elsewhere.
My son was accepted, as was a friend of his from another school.
waitlisted!
I saw on Axios recently that colleges are likely to put more applicants on waitlists because CommonApp stats shows that people have applied to more colleges than usual. I have no UChicago info, and I suspect that the movement on the waitlist will still be small, but it might be more than in normal years. Google “Axios covid elite college admissions” for the article. COVID's elite admissions boom
definitely agreed- more applications means more people qualified for a waitlist. i would expect very little movement from the waitlist, though. it’s probably akin to rejection.
i got waitlisted too
Waitlisted. Son is beating himself up about ED2.
I got accepted! This was one of my dream schools and I’m so excited!
