UChicago EA Applicants 2018

I have a 1440 on my sat. It was my first time. But I am in live in psychology. I am doing some research on human behaviors which is going to be my “hook”. It does seem like you have a brain injury.

what do you mean by that? you’re not insulting me, are you?

Does anyone know the official date when U Chicago is going to mail the EA decisions? I want to have some sort of countdown going, and they have only said “mid-December”.

Also, yeah, ACT is important but by no means the deciding factor for Chicago. They value essays really heavily, as well as GPA, course rigor, extracurriculars, etc.

@debater no date yet, we probably won’t know until a week or so before.

It is around the 18th of December. Of course not, never. I meant that your status didn’t affect your intellectual abilities.

ok ok then, thanks for the compliment :)

Well, that may actually be a good thing. Maybe I’ll forget about it, and only have crippling stress over it for a week, not from now until the decisions.

@Omar

Cerebral palsy is a motor disorder. In no way does ironchariot have a “brain injury”. To say such is incredibly rude.

Debater
My knowledge of disorders, are very limited. If you had clearly interpreted my message above you would have understood that I meant only to compliment him.
Ironchariot,
My sincere apologies, I am very educated in that area.
If we are going to be classmate, let’s start from the right foot.

@debater actually, in my particular case, the motor disorder arose from a brain injury at birth, so omar is technically correct, but still kind of rude. i don’t think he meant to be though, he may have forgotten the word “not” in comment #21.

@omar, oh good, my right foot is the strongest one  apology accepted
and btw, i’m female

Indeed I forgot to insert " not" in my phrase. To return to the main topic, which prompt did you choose?

the history one

From you username and our short conversation, I have a pretty good idea of what kind of person you ought to be.
If this is the kind of people I will encounter on campus. I am filled with joy.

Me too!! I ended up with media being the new history writers.

I was going to go with history, but I had an epiphany of sorts over what to do with apples and oranges, so I went with that one.

Also, @Omar, because you didn’t put the word “not” in your original phrase, there was no way to take it but as you insulting ironchariot.

aww, thank you  I hope i’ll get in so i can meet a bunch of awesome people, including you.

@debater I looked at that one, thought for a minute, said NOPE, and decided on history, fitting since i want to be a historian. more power to you for picking a creative prompt

It seems like you love history, as I do. But the one thing that I love as much as history, if not more than it, is politics. I found a way to tie apples and oranges with politics, so I went with it.

that sounds so cool. yes, i love history more than anything :)

Dabater.
Ah, your username says a lot about yourself too. You have to prove your point. Please accept my apologies if I offended you.
Although I have taken all the ap English class my school has to offer, I often omit words( I speak 4 other languages). I am not bragging. I hate that.
The apple and orange was tempting but the hard part is to keep the essay interesting.
