<p>My counselor told me today she heard the date was officially the 17th</p>
<p>@Localdreamer15 me too. Basically the entire month of October was dedicated to UChicago. And I wish I could but your guess is as good as mine. Spending a ton of time on your essays sure won’t hurt though! </p>
<p>now im freaking out because it’s so close!</p>
<p>So just one more week, ok I can handle that. </p>

<p>@naaattt If your regional counselor said it’s not a problem then I’m sure it isn’t! They were accepting external documents until the 26th anyway, so you’re in the clear. </p>

<p>Sorry if this is a repeat question–but I can tell at least some of you guys don’t mind!–Chicago will notify applicants via email? Or through their UChicago accounts? Is there typically a time?</p>
<p>@zzzmmm they will email soon regarding day and time to check the uchicago account for the decision! </p>
<p>@zzzmmm, it’s going to be through the portal. As for the time, I don’t know when but I’ll assume on or after 3pm because that’s when most people would be out of school. </p>

<p>i still don’t get where the “17th or 18th” date came from…i’m not seeing anything on uChicago accounts…and would HS counselors have some special insight into this? Or when people say "counselors’, do they mean people who work at uChicago? </p>
<p>It’s common for some HS counselors to open a line of communication with admission counselors, especially if the HS has students applying to that college annually.</p>

<p>@SouthernHope I have no idea. I haven’t seen anything about it either, but it would make sense as the 17th is Wednesday of the third week of December, which is when they released decisions last year. I’m kind of just assuming everything is speculation until they say something publicly. </p>

<p>UChicago won’t verify that when I called today. Still, high school counselors are routinely in touch with the admissions rep. and if they’ve heard it’s the 17th it’s most likely true. The admissons office simply said that they couldn’t verify the 17th and that a date will be posted on the admissions site.</p>
