Does anyone know the separate EA/ED acceptance rates for 2021?
Dean Nondorf spoke at an admitted students reception and said that it was 9% from the combined EA/ED applicant pools. He also said that UChicago’s early acceptance rate was the lowest published in the US this year. Harvard’s early acceptance rate was 14.5% for reference.
@RavenclawNerd is Nondorf including ED II in that early acceptance rate of 9% or only EA/EDI?
I think the lowest officially published rate is MIT that came in at just under 8 percent if I remember correctly
Yes that is right they defer about 61% of there EA applicants and then subsequently admit about 5% of that pool during RD. IOW they don’t give a lot of boost to there EA applicants most likely due to the fact it isn’t SCEA.
Any idea how many students have been deferred this year? I called them up asking for the stats, they said that this year it was either an acceptance or a rejection, as compared to previous years fewer students were deferred this year.
