Firstly I think the OP wrote it. Secondly I don’t think anyone is reading into it at all. I’m not saying he’s a bad guy. It just seems to be in a little bad taste in my opinion.

this is so ironic. you have no idea. my parents were, in fact, worried that i would not get into cornell because i had not received one piece of “marketing” from them. not once. not a single time. and i heard that if you get a guide tour of cornell, you’ll be really let down by the way they treat you, the prospective student. and yet cornell still gets 37 thousand applicants a year (and accepts just over 6 thousand). i W I S H cornell advertised more. irony.

i personally think uchicago is better than northwestern. in fact, i think uchicago is just a teensy bit better than cornell. maybe i’ll change my mind once i get to cornell =]

I think the OP did it.

It’s funny because the writer tried to sound smart and funny in the reply but failed at both.

UChicago really needs to stop sending such long and emo mails, I understand they want to extent the deadline. Well then, just say that. There’s also a hint of emotional blackmailing at the end lol.

I would also agree with the others in saying that the person who replied is even more stupid, you never know how or when life comes and bites you in the back.

and as for the UChicago vs Northwestern debate, it really depends on who you are… I think they have really different student bodies. Still, UofC>NW. You can’t really say bias here, because I got into UofC early… I could still apply to NW. I didn’t.
