Many Early Action applicants in the Eastern United States have expressed concern about missing our deadline due to the extreme weather conditions and power outages that have affected that area. We would like to reassure those applicants: We understand, and we encourage you to send in your UChicago Early Action application (and financial aid application) by Monday, November 7th, 2011. We hope this eases some of the stress. Please contact us if we may be of any assistance.

If you’ve already submitted your application—thank you! If you still intend to apply Early Action, remember to hit submit today, November 1st.

So is the deadline November 7th or November 1st? That was from their email; I'm very confused. I intended to apply Uchicago EA, but spent more time on my ED app and couldn't get to chicago. But if the deadline is Nov 7th I can finish it. What's the deal?

If you were affected by the power outtages, don’t worry so long as it is in Nov. 7. If you don’t even live on the East Coast, you’re dropping into RD.

If you live on the East Coast, then you may submit your EA app by monday november 7th, if not, the deadline is november 1st.

Okay I live east coast ¶ and lost power for a day. I haven’t submitted my common app or my supplement to chicago. So I can finish my App over the weekend and be ready for Chicago EA?

Yes you may.
