Ok, so I had a few questions about the student life at the University of Chicago(this is all theoretical, of course. I won't even be applying until this fall.)I plan to apply early and if i'm accepted wanted to be ready to submit my housing app ASAP in order to get the dorm I want. I was looking for some insight from current and former students about the different dorms on campus. I want to be really close to campus and for that reason I was going to put either max p or snell-hitchcock as first choice, then bj or south as third. What's the house culture of those dorms in regards to partying(I'm not big on drinking and the like) and overall sense of community? I want to feel as though I know everyone in my house and would prefer a double. Also, I know max has private baths for each suite so how's the bathroom situation in snell-hitchcock? And what about the walk to Bartlett? Is it not that far for people in snell-hitchcock? After those, some really detailed pros/cons for the four would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and I plan to stay in the same building all four years and my intended major is in the biological sciences with prep for the phd/md medical research program so being near the biology building is important.
