UChicago or Vanderbilt for Pre-Med

Dear friends,

I am struggling to choose between UChicago or Vanderbilt. I am thinking that I will be pre-Med track, which shool is better for pre-Med if money is not a considering factor? Vanderbilt hjas a beautifical campus, but UChicago is more pretigious?

anyone can offer any insight about their acceptance rate or statistics sending students to medical schools?

Appreciate any anvice,

I don’t think any statistics are available that show, for a given combination of GPA and MCAT score, the admit rates from college X to med school Y. The conventional wisdom on CC is that the college of origin matters very little, if at all. It may be the case that a high GPA is harder to get at one of these colleges than the other in some majors.

Chicago has a beautiful campus, too. Both are prestigious.

Both are very prestigious, and for med school admission, the difference is negligible (Although I would say in general that Uchi is slightly more prestigious).

Go with fit.

Both schools are great and will get you into med school - I agree you should choose on fit

Yes, both schools are great. Look at other factors such as location, weather, proximity to your home, etc.
