Hello all, if you look to my recent post about Financial Aid, I am not able to answer financial aid questions; all such questions should be directed to our aid office at college-aid@uchicago.edu.

Hi, I applied to UChicago early action. I was wondering if there is a difference between writing “public relations officer” and “reviver” of french club. I partook in the reviving efforts of the club by actively contacting the board of education and spreading awareness for the club. I wrote on my application the i was the “public relations officer”, but I guess “reviver” would be more accurate. Do I have to contact the admissions officer? Thanks!!!

Hello Steve, it is not necessary to contact us to correct this difference; we will note that you were part of the French club either way.

Hello,
I couldn’t see any update from UChicago website the profile for the class of 2015. It is already November and the application season started several months ago.

Where can I find the common data set for UChicago?
Thanks.

Hi,
I just discovered that I somehow did not send my score reports. As it is past the deadline to submit missing materials, what should I do? I sent them off as soon as I realized this, but will it prevent me from being considered during EA?
Thanks so much.

david05, they have not been posted yet, we traditionally do have a lag between the start of the new year and their posting while we assemble the relevant data for ourselves out of the common data set.

itmustbeadream, for the moment we are likely able to work off of your self-reported scores, so you will still be considered for EA, but please do submit an official score report ASAP.

Hi! I have submitted my ACT scores, resent them, and have had my counselor fax official score reports, but they’re still showing up as missing. Should I be worried? Thanks so much!

cboggio, no, do not be worried. Our processing team is still working their way through volumes of resent material (we had many many students resend things last week); rest assured that the scores are here, and that we are just waiting to scan and process them.

hi Grace,
if I just sent my SAT II scores TODAY, will they get to UChicago in time? (I applied EARLY ACTION) Is there any way I can tell my admissions officer that I sent more scores?

^Similar to this question but I’ve applied for early action and raised my Biology E score by 60 points and was wondering if I should I send this in (my intended major is biology)? Also, should I use rush shipping if it is recommended for me to send it?

nondairycreamer and mmafanatic, SAT-II scores are not a required portion of your application. You do not need to e-mail your admissions counselor to update them with this material, nor do you really need to send them unless you feel a particular need to; at this point we really only wish to receive required application material that was accidentally not received by us.

Hi,
My second teacher letter of recomendation is still listed as “Awaiting” on my account even though the UChicago website says that processing of application materials is now complete, and even though my teacher says she sent in the letter three different times: Once through the mail on October 16, once through the mail last Tuesday, and once by fax last Wednesday. Additionally, I never received an email telling me about missing materials, I just saw the letter was listed as missing on my account. Do you have any idea what may be going on, and what I should do about it? Should I ask my teacher to mail/fax the letter yet again? Also, will I still be considered an Early Action applicant despite this difficulty?

Thank you so much for your time and help! (:

Yes, you will still be considered for early action. It takes us some time to process documents after they come in through mail or fax; your letter is likely still awaiting processing. Please do not send in another copy.

My counselor recently submitted my “Optional Report” to the Common App. My first term (I go to a trimester-ed school) grades were finalized, and so she sent them. Will UChicago care about these grades and download the report in time for my EA application?

Hi, I applied to UChicago early action. Recently I won a distinction award. Should I update this via E-mail to my admissions counselor or fax to admissions office?

Hi Grace,

In November, I submitted a report about one of the university courses that I took under additional materials. One day ago, the midterm results are out, and I did pretty well. So I wonder if I could still submit this information into my application. Thank you very much!

Hello Abrayo, simpleton, and snow2008, at this time it is unlikely that these materials will make it to your file; you should feel free to update us with this information in your midyear report should you be accepted or deferred. If you wish, you may e-mail a quick update to your admissions counselor, but this is not necessary.

Hi,
When I checked my Uchicago account last week, it had all my rewuired material listed with green checkmarks next to each item. WHen I log on now, all my information is gone. Is this something I should be concerned about? Thank you!

Grace, Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Hello, I’m a junior in high school. My cumulative weighted gpa is 4.8 on 3.0. I am aiming to get a 32 on the ACT. I have taken AP US History, and I am currently taking AP Spanish, AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP Psychology. Do I stand a good chance at getting accepted?
